Symposia

Each year, the William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal, in coordination with the Institute of Bill of Rights Law, sponsors symposia on topics of contemporary constitutional significance, inviting leading scholars from around the nation to present papers and debate their merits.

Subsequently, these papers are published in the Journal, making these symposia one of the most significant academic forums for the publication of scholarship on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

We are proud to announce this year’s Symposium: Memory and Authority: The Uses of History in Constitutional Interpretation, centered around Professor Jack Balkin’s new book. It will take place on March 29 and March 30, 2024, at the Law School.
