About the Journal
In the Spring of 1992, the Institute of Bill of Rights Student Division helped transform the Colonial Lawyer into the William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal.
Since 1992, BORJ has published important scholarly works on constitutional law. Issued four times per year—in October, December, March, and May—BORJ adds almost 1,400 pages to the constitutional scholarly corpus each year. Containing both student-edited professional articles and student-written notes, BORJ is ranked the third among student-edited constitutional law journals and sixth among all constitutional law journals by The Washington & Lee Law Journal Rankings.
Each year, as the Institute sponsors symposia on topics of contemporary constitutional significance, leading scholars from around the nation assemble at the School of Law to present papers and debate their merits. Subsequently, these papers are published in the Journal, making these symposia one of the most significant academic forums for the publication of scholarship on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
More information about the journal can be found on the William & Mary Law School website.
