Membership on BORJ is open to all first-year law students at William & Mary Law School. BORJ extends membership invitations to approximately thirty-five first-year students each year. BORJ requires that all prospective members participate in the Joint Journal writing competition following the completion of their second semester. Students selected for membership on BORJ will receive their invitation during the summer following their participation in the writing competition. Upon acceptance of a membership invitation, the student becomes a staff member. Membership on BORJ is a two-year commitment.
Early in the spring semester, the outgoing Editorial Board members select the Editorial Board for the next volume after all interested second-year staff members have completed the Editorial Board competition.
