Memory and Authority: The Uses of History in Constitutional Interpretation
The William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal is hosting its annual symposium on March 29-30, 2024! This year’s Symposium is centered around Professor Jack Balkin’s new book: Memory and Authority: The Uses of History in Constitutional Interpretation. Sixteen law professors and historians from around the country will present on various topics, including how lawyers should make historical arguments; the Roberts Court and originalism, history, and tradition; constitutional memories; and more!
The symposium will take place from 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM on Friday, March 29, and from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 30. Each panel will include a designated question and answer portion for attendees to engage directly with the presenters.
